OOPS!
I just tried running paradox 4.0 on one of the windows2000 computers aas a standalone: and it also works slower than a turtle.
The configuration that worked was an application and paradox installed on a removable 100mb zip drive running on a windows 2000 computer. A one man business...

I added the items you suggested to the registry and moved my network id into a seperate folder, but alas it didn't work.
I'm not looking to just tweak the performance: this application is at a standstill.
Again windows98 and windows ME have no problem accessing files...
