    Add border to a rectangle

    You should be able to find what you need in the stroke tab after selecting the object.

    Border Around Graphic?

    If I'm understanding you correctly, making a new square the same size as your graphic should do the trick. (No fill, with a 2 or 4 pixel stroke).
