I want to run a GUI database tool on SCO Unix. However, I need to get X-windows running first, and I don't have a clue. Can someone tell me how to build my DISPLAY variable value. SHould I use a tty number or my PC name?

I have recently installed Linux (Mandrake Blue 7.0). I have operated the machine in standalone mode but now want to make it available on our network. How do I accomplish this - Do I simply edit /etc/hosts with the relevanet IP address? Are there other steps involved in the process?

The du commands posted should be adequate for your requirements. However, always remember that the percentage is relative ie. if you have 100 gigs of which 98% percent is used, you still have 2 gigs available. What you should look for are files (eg log files) that grow on a regular basis...
