    Call the procedure in the after form trigger of the report or the before report trigger. Call the procedure with the parameters..as usual..

    As far as my knowledge goes PDF creation does not consume any extra time. Please check your query using explain plan. I suspect that there is a cartesian product forming in the query itself. Have you tested the report in the previewer? How long does it take to execute?

    Please set the mode to DEFAULT in the report as the report parameter. For a DESFORMAT parameter of PDF or HTML the MODE parameter should always be DEFAULT and not character.
