thanks that was helpful. The status will show as failed since the lines in the log file read - and i break them down in 3 sections:- Backed up 37895 files in 1771 directories. 1 corrupt file was backed up 8 files were in use 1 item was skipped. File "ACTIVATE.PVX" in use - Backed...- shaytan

i got the veritas backup exec installed on the client win2000 pro. pc and installed the remote on the win SBS server. Also installed remote agent on other win2000 pro pc. Ran a backup, looks fine, i see the size it backed up (even though it left out 2 files out of several 100 files it backed up)...- shaytan
