Using Active Directory, all our users have a folder in a Users directory on our Win Server 2003 file server (ie \\server\Users\jsmith). The folder is mapped and the "My Documents" folder on our users' PCs points to that mapping. Occassionally, when our XP users logon, the mapping has changed...
I don't have the technical info on me to back this up, but I believe that XP was made to handle memory much better than 2000 and in turn is faster. In my dealings with the two OS's, I continually notice that XP is faster then 2K no matter how much memory the machine has.

Thanks for the reply. Could you give me some more details, please? I have downloaded the driver on one of the 2000 machines and I went to the Add Printer Wizard, but when I have to chosse the path to the printer the only way is through the print server, which I don't want to do. Do I have to...
My Windows NT 4.0 print server has been flakey of late, "crashing" randomly so that a manual reboot is the only solution. Can I host one of the printers (HP LaserJet 2100TN) that is already hosted on the server via TCP/IP port on a Windows 2000 machine instead and share it with two other...

Thanks for the reply, Matt.

Windos NT could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMHardware Profile/Last known Good menu
I get the same error when booting into VGA mode and when I press the spacebar to get the menu.

To make sure that users get the same profile everytime, you could use a program such as Deep Freeze (www.deepfreezeusa.com). No matter what a user puts on the computer, when they logoff and log back in, they get the default profile. It also allows you to restrict them in other ways.
