Thanks, but I have no schedule tab ! Just appointment and attendee availablity. I don't need schedule+ or anything like that do I????
Thank God for the Internet.
Hi, we are running Exchange 5.5 with mainly Outlook 2000 client. We have a number of public folders which hold meeting rooms. Does anyone know of a simple way to find a free space in any one of those meeting rooms at any time. Eg. "Tell me which meeting rooms are free next tuesday between 2...
We are running Exchange 5.5, mainly with Outlook 2000 client. Having downloaded the Global Address Book, the client cannot see the members of Distribution lists. This behaviour has been reproduced at a different site, so looks like an Exchange 'feature'. Can others duplicate this and does anyone...
Yeah ! Long live the command-line !!!
I am no Exchange guru but have been thrown in the deep end a few times with it. I agree with Bob. If you get into trouble, get all the help you can. Spend money. It will be worth it. Exchange utilities such as eseutil, edbutil, exmerge, isinteg etc look...
Can't say much more than Bob. Here is a useful doc -
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/techinfo/administration/55/ERecoverPlan.doc
Note that NTBACKUP will cope with deleting the logs too. Also note that disabling circular logging will force a restart of services !!!!
Bob is correct that you need rights, but you do NOT need to install Exchange on the server. That will cause you more trouble than you had before ! Just use the batch file solution as above and make sure you have all the up to date service packs applied to NT and Exchange. We have it running...
Apologies for my ignorance. I guess a lot of this is down to policies, contracts and licenses. Different for different countries, companies and roles. An administrator will obviously have access to any users Emails by virtue of him knowing the exchange admin password and being able to reset the...
Agree with the comments about non-exchange, but not sure about the 'ethics'. My ethics dictate that the mailbox is corporate property - if you want private mail, get a private mailbox and use it in private time (just like we all do, right ??). Adding individual access, rather than using Exchange...
In NT4, the ntbackup routine does NOT worry about open files if you use the correct switches -
ntbackup backup DS \\server IS \\server /HC:on /d "Full Backup of Exchange DS IS" /L c:\exchfull.log
This will backup the information stores and Directory Store.
I do not know if the same...
You CAN use NTbackup on the server with the backup device. I think you need to be at a decent Service Pack level to allow it to cope with open Directory or Information stores. You need certain command line switches -
ntbackup backup DS \\server IS \\server /HC:on /d "Full Backup of Server...
You need to add yourself into each mailbox, under permissions as a Windows NT Account with permissions - not INHERITED permissions. If you want to change out of office stuff, you then need to configure your Outlook client for the appropriate user - you can add various profiles. Note that some...
I recently installed SP4 from a technet CD and the path you need is \ENG\SERVER\SETUP\I386\Update.EXE. It did not need a reboot, but did restart services. It also messed up our Outlook web access - make sure you are familiar with your set-up if you use it.
If you still have problems, make sure...
Assuming you are using Outlook as a client, you need to configure delivery and synchronisation. Set up the delivery (Tools, Services, Delivery Tab) to be your mailbox on the exchange server, rather than a personal folder. Then you can set up synchronisation so that whatever you want copies...
Can't you do a directory export from the GAL on the server, picking what you want and then do some sort of jiggery-pokery with the CSV data in Excel or Access ?
