I had been previously advised to look into - Start, contol panel, phones & modems, modems, properties, power management. Then unclick the "Allow this device to bring the computer out...
I have windows XP Home Edition. I end my work by turning off the PC via the start bar and the "turn off computer" signs. If the phone rings the PC switches on.
To get round this I have to swich the power off at the wall.
Any suggestion on how to thwart this phantom switch-ons.
We have already taken out the card and it was after this that windows notify us on restart that it

You are just wonderfull. I had added the small business stuff but I do not need it. Getting rid of it has made the magic work. I had tried Microsoft's support but obviously I was not asking the right questions. Thanks
