    I don't know.... I just basically tried it as a last ditch effort and only the one set of wires coming out is used, I disconnected the floppy. Weird.

    So before I get the new power supply, I should get a new hard drive? And when I do hook up each component one by one, I'm worried that they'll short out the system again. Is there a way to test separate parts without hooking them up and risking the PS/Motherboard/Drives?

    My old AMD K6-2 computer made a loud firecracker like nose then nothing worked, so I put the hard drive and CD-ROM from that computer in my Dell Dimension 8100 (P4) to see if they were still operational, but upon plugging the power cable in the power supply, instead of my fans whirring...
