Turns out it was a residue of Bugbear incompletely cleaned from the network. All traces of this now removed and all works fine.- TonyTown

Problem sharing printers on Win2K and WinMe
We have a WinMe PC and a Win2K PC on a peer-to-peer network. An HP P1000 printer is connected by USB to the WinMe PC and an EPSON C70 printer is connected by USB to the Win2K PC.
