"Ripple Delete" not working
Make sure your settings will allow you to see even the smallest clips. It may be that you cut the audio portion and not the video, or vice versa. If so, make sure that the leading edge of both audio and video are flush. Otherwise, ripple delete won't work.- harbhippo

mp3 files only play for one minute
After moving the mp3 file to the timeline, click on it once, and then hover your mouse pointer on the right edge of the sound clip. You should see a red bracket. You can drag that bracket to the right, and stretch the clip on the timeline. This will allow more of the music to play, and if you...- harbhippo
