Hey! At least this post caught one person's eye in the nine months it's been out there! Thanks for letting me know you were looking!
I should pull this now, as I passed the exam in October, one question shy of the MBCP minimum score. I was hoping for that, but am told I can retake the exam...
In studying for the PMP certification, you will learn very little about IT, in and of itself.
Your IT colleagues may be, for a time, impressed with your PMP credential, in and of itself, until the patina wears off, and it's clear to them that they're teaching you everything they know, even...
This was one of the best things I have ever done in my life. I went through this curriculum in 1989, and continue to reap the benefits, and practice the core principles on a daily basis today, in both my professional and personal lives.
I have subsequently referred several colleagues with whom...
In addition to framing the past, present, and future of the enabling technology, as well as consideration of the sociological implications, would it make sense to also provide treatise of the security and technology control considerations/imperatives, in the context of some of the global...
What is the intended T-1 mode/media; leased? private? copper? fiber? wireless? If leased, is the proximity and property rights between the two locations such that private media could be installed?
Where is the LD T-1 homed; Definity location or warehouse?
How many phones in the warehouse...
Anyone out there know of any cert prep materials for the DRII Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) exam, other than the courses offered by DRII themselves?
In addition, anyone out there familiar with related logistics of taking the exam in Canada? On this last front, I'm especially...

I'm a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the Power Engineering Society and the Communications Society, as well as a former chair of both societies' chapters in my region. While not a member of the Computer Society, and thus not as familiar with its specific publications and activities...
Check out the free PMP tutorials on this site. Look for the link to them at the lower left of the following page--
http://www.pmboulevard.com
At the next screen, you'll need to input information similar to that which you provide for free subscriptions to trade magazines, and agree to their...
This information is pretty well laid out in the Avaya Definity Systems Release 10 Library documents; System Description, ECS Overview, Administrator's Guide, etc., including internal hot links that map you directly to the sections/paragraphs that explain the cards, their interrelationships, and...
My apologies, but in another thread, pmrankine just pointed out to me that PMI has recently discontinued the availability of PMBOK 1996 as a free download. Sorry for the bum steer!
Figure 2-1 on page 12 of PMI's 1996 "PMBOK" would allow you to draw an inference. While not the most current "PMBOK", it's a free download from pmi.org. If you're a PMI member, you can download the 2000 edition; it's on page 13 in that one.
I think I also remember seeing a...
Project management skills are learned through personal experience, mentors, courses and training, native intelligence/common sense, and trial & error.
You haven't mentioned budget considerations. Is there enough money available to hire an adjunct resource to work alongside you, to temporarily...
Background info:
-I am, and have pretty much always been, a copious list maker.
-I am extremely left-brained; strong ISTJ on Meyers-Briggs.
My early project management experiences were very inefficient, and frustrating to some degree, because I hadn't yet been exposed to any of the formal...
Can anyone offer suggestions/web links to cert prep resources for the ISACA CISA exam, other than those offered by ISACA itself, its chapters, or in Yahoo Groups?
I've not checked EBay, but I know I could, so unless you've seen something there recently, let's ignore that, too, please.
Thanks!
I can't quibble with pmi.org being cited as the holy grail, but can't believe no one has mentioned pmboulevard.com's PowerPoint presentations. Yeah, I know you have to "register" to use the free materials, but they're the best quick and dirty "get up to speed" references...
