Hi, I have a weird problem with the below script. It's a scheduled script that runs every half hour. 99 times out of 100 it runs fine. Takes about 10-15 seconds to complete, and results in about 10k worth of data transfer recorded in my access log. When it goes wrong however, the end of the...

    Invalid Character in CDATA

Hi Chip, I think you're right. The XSL was different because it had the "ISO-8859-1" set, so it must've been conflicting with the XML defaulting to UTF-8. I can now remove my "fix" of adding the extra parameter in the XML file. Thx

    Invalid Character in CDATA

Fixed it. The xml feed does not specify an encoding paramater. It works fine by adding encoding="iso-8859-1" in the first line.

    Loading a remote XML file

Still doesn't work i'm afraid! The ;) instead of ); in the xml.load line was just a typographical error when copying and pasting. http://content.sportinglife.com/headlines/xml/nfl.xml is definitely a valid XML file. Like i said, if i save it locally the script works. It is only when the script...

    Loading a remote XML file

No, there are no error messages. I placed the alerts to see where the script reaches, and it doesn't reach alert(2) with means that the problem is with the load function.

    Loading a remote XML file

Hi, A newbie question i'm afraid. Why does the below not work when the xml file is on a remote server, but work if i download the file and host it on my server? ps I need to do this client-side as ChiliSoft ASP doesn't support the MS XMLDOM object. <html> <body><script...
