Seems like new accounts don't have this problem. So, create yourself a new account (for those who can). Side-effect is that you'll loose all your precious registry settings. Windows cannot unload your registry file.
Have the same problem, but only with certain (non-roaming)accounts. Very weird indeed. You could create yourself a new account to get rid of the timeout (for those who can, home users, ...), but you'll loose all your registry settings. It's a small price to pay.
