Afaik telnetting to a linuxmachine and try to login as root is not possible. Try to telnet and login as a regular user. If you want root-rights, after login use su and the root-pass. Better is to install a ssh server and a windows ssh-client because telnet is not encrypted and everything that...- Keezie

strange behavior samba with graphic files
Hello, When I copy (mostly graphic) files from a windows 2000 machine to a samba-share, something strange happens. In the windows explorer I get 3 files from 1 file.... Ls output from the linuxmachine gives the following: -rwxrw-rw- 1 kees kees 551453 Aug 27 2001 top.psd...- Keezie
