Can't connect to DHCP - tried everything

Try setting a manual address on the same subnet as the router. If that fails then your NIC is dead.

Can you EXPAND a Windows 2000 Server partition?

How about using partition magic? I used it on my servers and it worked a treat. Alternatively create another partition and move the paging file there. Also, move your install directories for the apps to the other partition as well. 2GB is normally pretty ample for the C: partition but you...

    Windows NT4.0 Auto Logout

Sorry - I am not making myself clear here. We have a couple of hundred NT/Win2K servers. We need to maintain security. As a result we have a policy whereby all servers are logged out on the console when not in use. On Win2K we can autologout a session if it is inactive for more than 10 minutes...

    Pix OS Upgrade

Guys, It has been recommended that we upgrade our PIX firewalls from 5.1(2) to 5.1(4). Are there any issues associated with this? Any problems I should look out for? Should I consider going to the latest version of the PIX OS instead? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Loopy

    Site link costing

It doesn't know and doesn't care. All any system cares about is the link cost or "metric". IF you switch the link costs around and make the ISDN cheaper then the system will route through that - not to be recommended.

    Managed vs Unmanaged Switches?

Normally you set an IP address on a managed switch. Some have a built in web server for configuring and all have a CLI of some form. Some come with software but it's not normally necessary. VLAN's are useful only if you need them
