Help---**** No Desktop when loggin into W2K
I had the same problem...got the little box in the upper left corner and then nothing at all. I followed your directions to delete the file, but found that I couldn't. Kept telling me the file was in use. I tried deleting it from DOS and from windows...then I noticed a small monitor like icon...- ladyhawke1

lost the use of shortcuts, desktop, start and quicklaunch
I had this problem as well. After reading a few other posts, I learned that there is a virus or something hidding in the WINNT/SYSTEM32 directory. The file name is EXPLORER.EXE. The real explorer.exe is in the WINNT directory. I tried to delete it as was suggested but it wouldn't let me. Kept...- ladyhawke1
