Thank you both! Vragabond once again you've been helpful! It's always the small things. I wondered also about the amount of text next to the picture, but hadn't thought of putting more in to push everything back down.
Hi, I'm making a page where I have images floating left, and the paragraph that relates to them floating along side them. All is working fine accept for one point. The image acts as if I've asked it to position itself relative to the picture above, so it indents itself to the right and then...
I'd taken the Doctype out of the documents and it caused them to appear the way they should. Have I slipped behind in Css as I have always put a percentages, words 100px 0.9em, etc into " " because they wouldn't work without them. Has this changed? Thanks heaps for pointing this out as it was...
Hi, I just added doctypes to a website I was working on. The pages are valid now that I've added the doctype but it's taken the styles away from my paragraphs. I had my paragraphs centered and 60% of the width, now they aren't. I take away the doctype and it all goes to the way it should be. The...
Thank you Vragabond, you've helped me trouble shoot. I had forgotten that I need to put things like lists in a Div to manipulate them. One of those things I hadn't used so had lost.
Ok, So basically I leave a list out on it's own? Can I place it in a Div and give the div a class telling it what to do? Or do I just leave it out and not tell it to do anything? The reason I was doing it was because the paragraphs I was making were only 65% wide, so was wanting to make the list...
This is the css for my paragraph:
.para {width:"100%";
margin-left:auto;
margin-right:auto;
text-align:left}
If I place a list in there, I'll lose the dots or numbers, though you can still see the place where they should be. Now if I leave the same list outside of the .para, then the...
Thanks for the info. For now, I should probably keep the links relvant to the games I know and have instore, as I know what's on them, etc. A lot of the other sites are fairly obscure, then as I delve further into other games, add those links etc. That way I can organise as I find out what games...
I'm making up a small site for my games business, and thought I'd use the links from my suppliers to the publishers of the games they supply. However there are quite a few of them and was wondering how much is too much. Realistically, there are only a few that I really need, which may have...

Ok a while ago I posted my website www.gdcycles.com.au and the problem I encountered with the menu disappearing in certain sections. No one had an answer. I've discovered the cause of the problem and it's a table. When I've added to an already existing table on the page, the menu disappears from...
Yes, they are valid and it works on firefox. It was working on IE as well until I added another TD to the table. Discovered it's not just the gifs but anything I add to the body, the menu will disappear partially.
Found the problem. For some reason, the menu disappears at the part where the w3c gifs appear. I pulled out everything except the menu, then replaced parts from the bottom up. The menu disappeared from the spot that those 2 gifs appear. They're the only things on the page at the time. Why would...
The thing with the styles, is that it came from the main page. When it didn't work, I just cut and paste the menu in. The browser is IE6. Every other page works with the menu, but these two pages. The bikes link is in the menu and drops down with more options by the way, loading the same page...
Just updating a web site and when I've added two new pages, the menu is only half there. It validates properly, all of the code is there to show the whole menu and the page, (yes, I know it's probably something small, grrrr), can someone have a look for me and let me know if it's doing the same...
You can drag the page into frontpage and then use the html view to see the source of a page, so if frontpage can do it, I'm sure there are other more impressive ways of doing it.
LOL, oh dear, we had a thing for <div> tags at one stage, I made a pirate in flash with a <div> bird on his shoulder moving across a beach to the music of captain pugwash...
I'll try that, thanks. The thing that's annoying is that it didn't do this before I validated and put a doctype in. Nope didn't work. I've managed to take a picture of the screen when it does it. the link is: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d176/mortislegion/menu_gd.jpg You'll see what it's...
Ok, tried the menu on another computer, and the same problem occurs. If I mouse over one item on the menu and move up or down, it puts that word over another menu item until it's all mixed up and unreadable. What is causing this? I've had that menu up for close to a year and it worked fine, but...
