    I have found this to be useful. Add the following to /etc/rc.conf sendmail_submit_enable="NO" sendmail_outbound_enable="NO" sendmail_msp_queue_enable="NO" The last line I had to add after upgrading FreeBSD to v4.7. Good Luck!
