Zelandakh,
Sorry about the delay in getting back. Thanks for the info. I was hoping I could do it, but was afraid what you said was what I'd have to do.
Thanks.
I have been tasked with upgrading a Win2K (SP4) server running Exchange 5.5 to a Win2K3 server running Exchange 2003. I would like some advice on the best way to go about this. I'm thinking (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the best (safest) way is to upgrade the Win2K server to Win2K3...
Every time I have done it (15?), it has worked under all the applications, and nothing has been affected. BE FOREWARNED: if it's critical, a backup is a GOOD first step. Just to be safe, ya know.
When you type that in the run box, it'll come up and tell you that it's scheduled for the next...
Win2K will run on both FAT32 and NTFS. NTFS will give you two distinct advantages: security and better use of disk space. If either are an issue, I'd change to NTFS. You can do that by going to start, run, typing "convert c: /FS:NTFS" and hitting enter. Done it many times, and I...
Are you running AD? I'm having the same problem with one of my users, and the problem seems to be from a stored password in a program that tries to log itself in (db admin program). Because the stored p/w and the network p/w aren't the same, it locks the account out.
Hope this helps.
How stupid can this get? I went out to Teac's website (they make the drive), and they had a couple of files that were supposed to work. They hadn't worked earlier, for some reason, but I tried them again. They wrote to the boot disk (this time!), and when I booted, the CD was found! I copied...
Taking the HD out is a new idea. Tried that, but the connector is a different size, one that I don't have a cable for.
USB won't work (no matter what drive) until I get an OS loaded. Been trying to find a SCSI CD to borrow, but no luck so far.
Thanks to all.
Called IBM, and there is no way to load Win2K from a USB CD-ROM. Teach me to FDisk a computer! But, I can send it to them (with $187), and they'll put Win2K on it for me. What a deal.
I have an IBM Think Pad 240X with an external USB CD drive. I fdisked and formatted C:, but now I can't get the install to take. The issue is the USB CD drive. The driver isn't loaded yet, so it won't read the CD. I have already made the 4 boot disks, and have tried that, but still no joy...
I was having SCSI problems on a HP/Micron server, with an ADIC DLT tape library, and the fix was to replace the non-brand name SCSI card. After I did that, all was well in back-up world.
