sybaseguru.. thanks for responding.. i missed it last time i was logged in here is the info ASE 12.0.0.4 EBF 9972 total memory is 3.5 GB yes using dbccdb.. has recommended resources from evaluatedb it has 11 worker processes - it's running on a Sunday.. nothing else runs then.. i moved it there...- arlram

our dbcc's are timing out.. running checktable on datarow locking table with 5 million rows and checktable is not finishing below 8 hrs..any ideas why it takes so long?- arlram

Thank you very much... I have something similiar to that but it only processes the first entry the cat file. it does not do the loop....There are 50 entries in .test_info if [ X$1 = XPROD ] then SERVER_TYPE_LIST='PROD' else SERVER_TYPE_LIST='BACK' fi for SERVER_TYPE in $SERVER_TYPE_LIST...- arlram

Please help... i need to write a script the uses as input a file with unix host names. The script will rlogin/rsh into each unix host and go to the /var/tmp directory and remove any files over 7 days old. Please help- arlram

Please help!!! I am not a good unix scripter and i need a script to use as input a file with unix host names. This scripts will rlogin (rsh) to each host and go to the /var/tmp directory and rm any files older than 7 days. please help- arlram
