To CurtTech,
I think the only way you are going to get this to work is to install a layer 3 device (some type of router) between the linksys BEFVP41 and your 10.1.0.0 network. And no, it cannot be another linksys.
Reason I say this is that these linksys devices are only capable of class C...
Does this happen to all your users, or just some of your users?
I've seen a similar message when the VPN server or client uses more than just the TCP/IP protocol (NetBeui, IPX/SPX). If any protocol other than TCP/IP is used in the VPN negotiation, and the client calling in does not have that...
Hey Particleman,
Found this while trying to research your problem on the web. Hopefully, it might prove helpful...

good luck!
You know, I did this same thing with a W2K Pro to VP41.
Ran a ping 192.168.1.x command, and I also got
Negotiating IP security
Negotiating IP security
Negotiating IP security
Negotiating IP security
However, when I ran the command:
ping -t 192.168.1.x, I got

"The router will not pass browser broadcasts from clients, Hey, It's a router, That's really all it is! (packet "A" to interface "B") You need to supply another method of name resolution. You have no choice, It's just a stupid device."

To tcompe9139:
I downloaded the 1.40.2 firmware from the following site where a user was kind enough to post. He says that he was forwarded the firmware from Linksys tech support. The *.zip file contains firmware for 1.39.64, 1.40.1, and 1.40.2. I have flashed my VP41s to the 1.40.2 and am...
Trust me, NAT and VPN CAN BE on the same boxes.
Do you have a IM account on Yahoo? If so, please let me know so that I can try and give you a hand since posting on this messageboard is so time consuming. Are you game? If you do have IM on Yahoo, let me know what your handle/nickname is...
I just ran into the browse/ping/map issue recently. I had just set up a lab at home with 2 BEFVP41s and 1 W2K server behind each one to simulate a network VPN connection going across a WAN connection.
Initially, after setting up the VPN tunnel successfully with netbios broadcasts enabled, I...
Some Linksys BEFVP41's don't have netbios broadcasts enabled. There is a little known web interface on the linksys befvp41 router that has not been publicly announced by Linksys at this time. The reason Linksys does not yet acknowledge this feature is because they claim that all features do...
sorry bout the rename question. i see that you already tried renaming the file. can you rename the directory and then get rid of the directory? Or do you already have files in that directory that you should not delete?
Before renaming the directory, i think you might have to shut down FTP...
I've encountered a similar problem connecting Windows 98 machines to a WinNT environment via VPN/RAS through a proxy server running Routing and Remote Access.
The problem with the Win9x machines is that they usually don't have the correct logon info that the WinNT/W2K environment is looking...
First of all, a couple of questions for you.
W2K supports 2 types of vpn connections, L2TP (used in conjunction with IPSec) and PPTP.
Looking at the thread, I am assuming that you are using IPSec?
If this is the case, have you tried using PPTP?
When you say that other clients are are...
