Check the powersave options. Sometimes if the network connection has been idle for too long, the computer will "shut down" the network card. Turn your powersave option to Always On and see if that helps.
After assigning the drive letter under Disk administrator, right click on it again and select commit changes. That should set the new drive letter assignment.
What resolution is your monitor set at? If the resolution is set higher than the monitor can handle it will cause the screen to shift and sometimes shut off
I have found that if you uninstall the network (delete all network protocols), reboot the system, install the protocols, and reboot again, the network will speed up again. I haven't figured out why this works, but it does.
