    I cannot defragment my C Drive because it is Write Protected

    Thankyou Ed for your reply. I think I am in the wrong Forum. I use Windows98. evidentally the properties on C Drive does not have a Security tab. If you have any more suggestions ,,,,, I would appreciate it. Rnf

    I cannot defragment my C Drive because it is write protected. How this just happened I do not know. I must defragment my system now..... Can anyone help me Remove the Write Protected Feature?

    When I went to defragment my C Drive..... got the message that it is Write Protected. My D Drive is ok. I desperately need to defragment my C Drive now. This problem happened without me doing it. How do I Remove the Write Protected feature?
