How is 2000 vs 98 in gamin?

Hi I am an avid QuakeIII player (a.k.a. 'crappy Pinger') and I converted across from Win 2K from Windows 98 about a year ago. In retrospect I wish I had not. The gaming is a bit slower although it is more stable. This may not be due to the OS change though but it could be due to the changing...

Blue screen of death related to CPU clock speed?

Just to let you know I finally resolved this issue by fitting a thermatake volcano 9 coolmod fan. This resulted in cooler operation of the processor but the solution is probably related to the fact that the power supply of the new thermaltake fan was direct from the supply and it was not...

    W2K sp3....

I also have had no problems with the SP3 update except for one annoying factor. I lost the ability to search for files/text when using Windows Explorer. Every time I tried to search for a file it crashed and returned to the desktop. Otherwise no probs.

Blue screen of death related to CPU clock speed?

The BSOD appears to be CPU temperature independent. i.e. it crashes at exactly the same place in start up from a 'cold' boot or when it has been operating in 3D gaming at the previous 100MHz setting. I have two DDR PC 2100 256 RAM(DIMM slot 1 and 2). I have removed both then evaluated each one...
