I have been able to do this, but I had to use the command line option in the ftp client (WSFTP) to make it work. Type cd//server name/volume name at the command prompt and this will change your directory to whatever server you need. Granted, this isn't the prettiest way to do it, but it works...
I am running iis4 and can access apage with mulitiple frames via IE with no problem. When I try to access the same site with Netscape, 2 frames return a 403.2 Forbidden: Read Access Forbidden.
I have checked permissions on all folders and they are correct.

In win95 there is a utility called ws2bakup. This utility re-installs all the tcpip files in windows. I am not sure if this applies to win98 as well. You may want to check microsoft's website to make sure. This utility has gotten me out of the same predicament many times.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference but the patch is only a handfull of files that she be backed up anyway. Worse case scenario, you could always put back the original files.
I think it's about 7 files total.

Run testnlm.nlm in the arcserve utility directory. This will test the login into the remote server.
If the login fails, and you are running only the IP protocol, try loading IPX. This isn't the best solution but it should fix the login problem to the server.

There is an ndps patch that needs to be loaded after the service pack is applied. The file is NDP2XP4.EXE.

This was a longshot but i got it to work. I found a usb file for the VIA 3038 usb device which is what I had on my system. I installed it and it resolved my problem.

Booted in safe mode, usb root hub appeared without exclamation mark. Removed it, restarted in normal mode, USB no longer working.
Go figure.....

I'm having a similar problem. However, I uninstalled Win ME and was never able to get the usb device to work again for the same reason as mentioned before.
