Hi all,
I've got a strange problem with a standalone XP machine (sp1a) that I have installed NAV 2004 on...
I installed XP from scratch and theres not much running on it so it was flying along quite happily. Once I had installed NAV, it would re-boot OK, but take ages to load the local...
I think that's what was dodgy at my end too, I found a "test" account with no password.... doh I must have forgotton to delete it.
I also unchecked the "allow authenticated users to relay..." in the access tab of SMTP properties, which should remove that possibility even if...
Zugdud,
Did you find a solution for yours too ??
I'm in the same boat, but using Symantec AV Corp Edition, I tried the add-on for Mail which scanned the mailboxes on the network, but I still have sh*tloads of stuff appearing in the outbound SMTP queues....
Hope you can help !!! I'm stuffed...
yer, that sorted it
Create a new message, then View, then click on the FROM field
I was having trouble because I had hidden the mailbox I wanted to "send as" from the global address list.. DOH
it has to be visable to select it
cheers !!!

Hi all,
Probably looking right at it but I'm having problems setting up a "send as" function for a users mailbox.
I want user A to send mail out as if he were User B, I've set up the appropriate permissions in ADUC for the mailbox, but I can't see how I do it on the Outlook...
Back to basics here !!! ;-)
Can I use ordinary CAT5 cable to connect an ISDN card to an ISDN BT box ??
The cable supplied with the card isn't long enough, has RJ45 ends but only 4 wires in the cable, where CAT5 has 8. (The colours are different too)
I thought it would be OK because I've...
Could this happen just by the user smacking the keyboard around, or stretching the cable ??? I don't see how doing that would permanently screw up the machine, even when another keyboard is tried ??
Am I missing the point here ? (always a possibility)
thanks for the replies so far everyone ...
there's some sites that say that if the keyboard being replaced doesn't solve the problem, then the system board requires to be replaced ????
can that be right ? the system board costs $158 with no processor :-O
I don't want to go through all the hassle of replacing it when a BIOS fiddle would...
thanks carrr
so it's "304 Keyboard clock high; keyboard or system unit error "
you wouldn't also happen to know how to resolve it would you ?? ;-)

After trying a different keyboard, a different error occurs
this time it;s "keyboard unit error 304"
any more ideas anyone ??

Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help me out here
I've got a user using Compaq Deskpro EP series machines, I had a problem with him where he restarts and I get "Keyboard error 26-301" and it won't boot, just flashes the cursor at the top left. I visited the site and couldn't for the life...
I can't see how you are still an open relay now... did you do the telnet check from the link from MichaelDay's post ?? did it allow traffic on port 25 to relay then ?
If the relay restrictions area in properties of the SMTP virtual server in Exchange Manager are set as "only the list...
Hi all,
A little teaser for you.....
I've got an installation that currently gets it's internet access through a modem dial up link to an ISP, modem attached to the ISA server box.
I'm implementing a DSL connection today, and wondered whether I need to alter any of the protocol or packet...
Hi all,
I'm about to get an MX record added to a company's DNS in order to send SMTP mail to their own exchange server. I've got ISA server all set up with an internal and external NIC, with the external NIC connected to a DSL link.
I don't want to get the MX changed until I can prove that...
Hi all,
I'm upgrading a client to an ADSL service soon and they currently use a dial up modem (56K) to their ISP for internet access and retrieval of SMTP mail.
I want to install the ADSL only for internet access initially and to leave the mail setup as it is just now.
Is it easy enough to...
I can't even login unfortunately :-(
the machine is on a different site so not too easy to play with. I was thinking of trying to boot up in VGA mode but I'm not sure how successful that may be - I'll find out tomorrow.
failing that, any other ideas ?
Life's too short
I've got a sp6a nt4 box that has developed a message after booting up which says
"The file system structure on this disk is corrupt, please run chkdsk on the corrupt volume"
this appears at the same time as the ctrl+alt+delete prompt and I can't get past it.
Is there a way of...
Thanks again Cheech, I've had a look to find out what the differences were and it's down to the coords of the rectangle shaped gif I used for the buttons.
How did you know what coords to put into the code ? I couldn't find anything on DW to indicate the x,y references ?
strange that I've only...
