hey goto http://www.xteq.com and download "X-teq Systems Setup", a very user friendly registry "hacker" and more! With this you will be able to get rid of the entire networks thing. (don't take my work for it but if it isn't there its not a waste, the program is very useful...
I have been having the same problem but it only happens when I try to do something that my computer cannot handle. It is not a sign that something is failing(not the IE6 problem) Im not knowledgeable about networks, so you could have a problem there but I wouldn't know it.
