Windows XP and Wireless Connection
Seems odd that the signal strength would be jumping up and down. It does on mine, but then I'm going about 500 feet through trees. I would check for something that might be causing interference nearby (such as another wireless device, microwave oven, etc.) As a control, try it with the two...- Roshi

BIOS detects the drive but windows98 won't
You may have lost the Master Boot Record on the disk. You can try fdisk /mbr, but read this first: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;69013& (copy and paste URL)- Roshi

Bad Sectors
Seriously, if you have "many" bad sectors, your drive is at the end of its life and should not be trusted. HDD's are very inexpensive these days, do yourself a favor and get a new one!- Roshi
