Solairs newbee - New install keeps rebooting

Hi All. Firstly apologies but I am new to this and have just downloaded and installed solaris 10 to have a play with. Installed fine, but when I try to boot it, the system just reboots. I believe this is called a panic but I have no idea where to find the logs or even how to read them. Can...

SIP - Analogue / PRI trunk problem

For info, the problem was solved by turning off the Voice encryption option on the System Options Assignment form. Chris Styles NT4/2000 MCSE

SIP - Analogue / PRI trunk problem

Hi, I am having a problem with a buch of SIP trunks, a 3300 cluster and them talking to either Analogue phones or external via pri trunks. Doesn't matter what element of the cluster I terminate the sip trunks on, I can use IP phones to call them and everything is A OK, use a Analogue device or...

Fax over IP FOIP using Eicon Diva

Just a quick update. We have had our system upgraded to v8 and the order from Eicon changed over to SIP licenses. We have also had 16 sip trunks created. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will be upto giving things a go. Chris Styles NT4/2000 MCSE

Fax over IP FOIP using Eicon Diva

I don't know what LS/ONS is. BRI / PRI qsig etc aren't an IP protocol. I have the option in this product of using either SIP trunks or standard H323 a or U law extensions. Other Mitel add on's tend to use a 5020 multiline extension emulation. I'm not really sure which is the best option...

Fax over IP FOIP using Eicon Diva

Right, I don't really understand your beef slapin. "There are so many options and methods to implement fax over IP" Correct there are, anyone done it, if so what with? "Which equipment do you use for PSTN connection?" Well that was in the original question, a 3300 or actually a cluster of 6. I...

Fax over IP FOIP using Eicon Diva

Erm, Well yes I would say it is possible to tell me something valuable. Perhaps like "I have a customer that tried to do this and failed after spending 4 weeks trying to get it working, buy a pri card instead" etc. I hadn't realised Fax over IP was as complicated as a moon shot, perhaps I...

Fax over IP FOIP using Eicon Diva

Does anyone have any experiance of using FAX over IP with the 3300? We are looking into using the Eicon diva server soft IP software as we are upgrading our fax system from 4 to 16 lines and don't want the cost of a pri card. Any advice / experiance / horror stories would be much appreciated...

    SQL 2005 Clustering

Hmm, I've never heard of Database Federation, still a lot to read on the subject. With reference to splitting the load, what I mean was have some databases on one node and some on another, then I would require the passive node to be able to assume to role of either node. I am not sure this is...

    SQL 2005 Clustering

Thanks for the help so far. I am thinking that we will be needing two active nodes to split the load and one passive that can take over should either node fail. Is this possible? As for the SAN we have a storage tek array which with the addition of a few fc disks should be OK. Agree they...

    SQL 2005 Clustering

Hi, Apologies if this has been dealt with before. I need some information urgently for Budget purposes. We are looking to setup a cluster for our PMS system which effectivly runs our firm and then look to migrate all our sql servers into one cluster. I want a highly available, scalable...

adding a disclaimer to outgoing emails

Oops out of date then. Bit of a mistake that I think. The number of customers we know that have put GFI in for the disclaimer bit and they have gone on to buy the product is quite numerous. I'll have to do a bit of digging for my own research. Chris Styles NT4/2000 MCSE

adding a disclaimer to outgoing emails

Exclamier is good, we use it. You can add custom signatures based on AD properties etc, and it won't let you down. GFI is free for the disclaimer bit and works like a charm as well, so if you don't need anything else, bang on GFI and job done. Chris Styles NT4/2000 MCSE

    Log mailbox access

I have a need to Log who is accessing who's mailbox, both successful and failed attempts. Searching MS articles has led me to believe you can turn on logging into the event log. What I then would need to do is parse this information into a SQL server for reporting. Does anyone have experience of...

    PGP universal Crash!

Hi. We have a PGP universal 500 box that sits in our mail flow. On tuesday afternoon all mail stopped and I couldn't login to the PGP box. Though we could ping it. Tried to reboot it. We reprogrammed exchange and our firewall to talk directly to get the mail flowing again. I now have my pgp box...

AD GPO problems and NIC/link/duplex settings

Out of interest, what happens if you hardcode the switch and leavel the nic as a default auto negotiate? Does the same still apply. This is the normal setting on our network and we don't get many autonegotiation errors. We use Mitel phones in the middle of the pc switch link and I don't know...
