We have a w2k Server and several W2k and NT clients. We use a linux machine for the internet.
I want that the Clients synchronize their time with the Linux machine.
The users dont have the right to set the time. So I can not use a freeware tool.
I did the following on the clients:
net time...
When I logon to a computer I use a batch file to connect to some directories on the server (net use ...).
The Explorer shows a small sign next to the directory. So you can see whether it is a linked directory or a directory on the lokal computer.
The problem is, that some times there is a red...
Another option would be to use server based profiles. Everyone gets the same profile and is not allowed to change it.
Even if they change something, the next time they logon, they get the old server profile.

I think its not possible to have two passwords for one account. But you could create a test user for yourself who has the same rights and is member of the same groups as your users. When there are problems, you can login as your testuser and so check everything out.
(Hope this makes sense)
Our users keep forgetting their passwords. Is there a way how I as an admin can see their passwords on my w2k server?
Maybe somewhere in the AD structure?
Thanks for your help.
