This will need to be an option that will work with many users - it's the list of partners of a company which changes and needs to be able to be updated centrally - does this effect your answer ??

Thanks for your response - the NetWare server runs fine, no problems. The problem is opening files from the Sco server. The NetWare client seems to be the cause of the delay (remove it and all is well). I have tried many different versions of the client, including latest and tried differing...
