This is off-topic but I thought I’d ask anyway….
Recently some of our customers have been complaining to us about a scam. When they call our 1-800 customer billing support number, someone offers them a gift card from a big box store if they verify their credit card information. We are not doing...
AT&T made a presentation to us in July 2013 about discontinuation of 8 different services. They stated that new ISDN PRIs will stop being sold on 6/30/14 (last week). Existing PRIs can remain in service until Oct 2019, when they will be turned off. Yes, TURNED OFF. Their replacement product is...
We are beginning a trial of SIP trunking. We have an MPLS circuit coming in from the carrier, connecting to an Acme Packet SBC, and then connecting to an Audiocodes Mediant 1000 gateway. The gateway connects to the CS1000M MG release 4.0 system via ISDN PRI. We cannot get the PRI to stay up for...
Recently we installed a CS1000E, release 7.5, connected to an IP turret system (Avtec Scout). The turret system is essentially a key system. In older setups, the turret system was analog, and we would connect it to the PBX (CS1000M rel. 4) using analog lines. But with the newer implementation...
We have several systems which use NT4N64AA processors. Some cards are release 1 and some are release 4. In a dual processor system (CS1000M MG, release 4.0 software), can you have one card at release 1 and one at release 4, or do they have to match?
Anyone know what the first release of CS1000 software was that allowed for third-party SIP endpoints? By that I mean a SIP phone made by another manufacturer. We’re looking at setting up a site with an IP turret system (Avtec Scout) and connecting to a CS1000 without having to use analog...
We have a situation where we installed a used system at a new site and have encountered some problems making it work with the other systems in our voice network. We are considering several different options. One is to program the site in a new customer in an existing site, but we’re not sure if...
At the VoiceCon 2002 conference, the person in charge of the NYC courts system voice network (I think his name was Sheng Guo) gave a presentation of the challenges he had in restoring telephone service right after 9-11. Mayor Giuliani said NYC would be back in business Monday morning. The data...
Fletch, thanks for the alert. We have a couple MI locations - one a power plant (way over 40K sq.ft.) and another with quite a few OPXs in two states, endpoints up to 60 miles away. Time to get to work!
We have 27 CS1000 systems, all on release 4.0 or 4.5. I am interested in capturing trunk/system traffic from all of the systems. We have an old traffic collection system called Switchview. It is collecting traffic for one site. Our version is 5.4, which is rather old, and the server on which it...
All of our systems are CS1000M or CS1000S, running on release 4.0 or 4.5 software. We have a stash of NTDU27AB signaling servers for spares, but that stash has dwindled due to failures. Is there a replacement/newer model available that does not require a system upgrade?
We have a dozen BCM50 3.0 systems and one 2.0 system that we want to upgrade to the latest software release, which is version 5 if I remember correctly. We have been self-supporting on these systems, except that we have needed to obtain patches/keycode files/etc from an authorized vendor as we...
Thanks all. We knew we had to use an NT5D14 and not a NT5D11. We also thought it didn't matter where we put it but could not find that info in NTPs to verify it. The site is 200 miles away so we thought we'd better find out before going there to install it.
We have a CS1000M Cabinet system (opt 11) on release 4.50W software. It is a three-cabinet system. We want to install a line side T1 (NT5D14) card in the system. Does it have to be on the main cabinet, or can it be on one of the expansion cabinets?
If you see that message, throw the phone away. There is no fix for it. We had quite a few in use years ago, and once one of them started displaying messages like that, there was nothing we could do to make it work properly after that. And we tried lots of things.
You might try replacing it with...
At our corporate HQ, we have a publicly listed main number for general inquiries and other business. This number is in the middle of a DID block, and it has been removed from that block. The telco routes calls to that number over 10 CO trunks. All other calls to numbers in the DID block are sent...
I have a list of several hundred such numbers to block, all in the 1800 SPN. The way I did it to get around the 64-number restriction was to program 6-digit entries, e.g. 1800 20, 1800 21, etc.
Go to LD 87, then enter these commands:
req PRT
cust 0 (Or whatever customer number you are using)
feat CDP
type LSC
lsc <enter>
The system will then list all LSCs. Repeat for TYPE = DSC and TYPE = TSC.
