    thinkpad 380D HD lock

    I have a 380D IBM thinkpad I know the password for both the log on and the hard drive. When I go to cmos setup and then to the password section ,, I see the lock symbol for both ,, but when I try to open it nothing will happen. It will not let me change or take off the password. any help...
