I need a solution with no extra software on the PC, users would not accept it.
Just thinking about this: Users have to install a standard modem and my hardware has to act like such one. But there is a lot of overhead for my hardware.
What do you think about this...
I want to build a hardware and then connect it to the PC's serial COM port. Then I want to communicate with this hardware by using a browser (IE or Netscape) to tonfigure tthe hardware. How can I get access to the COM port from a browser?
