HP will support it's server product for the life of the product warranty....servers (WinTel based) usuallly have a 3 year total 'in-warranty' support. You can purchase extended out of warranty HP service support contracts as well on an annualized basis thru your HP Auth Reseller.

Ok then, when you get a chance, pull out the hot swap drive and let me know what all the p/n are....both the HP, but more importantly, the OEM model#. Seagates usually start with ST, IBM with two numerals and then a alpha character, etc. Many times listed as the bare#. Maybe that will shed...

It is not suggested by HP to use anything but HP product inside their server product. However, you can utilize clone (Kingston, etc) memory as long as the main stick (#1) is HP memory. Then HP warranty should remain intact on the unit and potential boot up challenges shouldn't occur.
