I'm using VBUE version 10, build 5520. The media server is
2003 with sp 1. I am able to do IDR restores of windows 2000 servers but windows 2003
servers give error "recovery application c:\windows\system32\asr_pfu.exe /restore

Since this is IIS6, I'm thinking I need to allow .exe files to run. In the IIS6 manager, I went into "Web Service extension and made a new web service extention. for "required files" I put c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe. This that the correct required file for the extension exe?
We just installed Metaframe XPa on a Windows 2003 terminal server. If I already have the web client installed, I can get to the published app ok. If I try to download the web client, I get a 404 error. If I go into IIS6 and allow all web extentions, sometimes I get a DNS error and sometimes I...
In theory, the bare minimum would need to include tcp 42 (WINS), tcp and udp 53 (DNS), tcp and udp 88 (kerberose), tcp 135 (RPC), udp 137&138 and tcp 139 (Netbios), tcp and udp 389 (LDAP), tcp 445 (SMB) and tcp 3268 (Global Catalog). I think the problem I'm having is with DNS. Replies can...

We are running an AD domain with 2 windows 2003 servers as domain controllers/DNS servers. I'm trying to put an ip filter in place so that I don't have to allow all ports on the workstations through to the DC's. I've allowed 135 tcp & udp, 53 tcp & udp, 88 tcp & udp, 389 tcp & udp, 445 tcp &...
The problem turned out to be in the ini file used by the program. In it, the sql server was listed by netbios name. I changed that to the server's ip address and everyone is able to connect.
The problem turned out to be in the ini file used by the program to get to the sql server. If a user logged in explicitly, the program could find the sql server using the netbios name in the ini file, but not if they logged in anonymously. Everyone has been able to connect since changing the...
