I think I solved it.
Basically, I needed to add the drivers manually on the "Remote Desktop" host.
(Drivers were downloaded prior to attempting to install the printer)
PROBLEM: I was adding the drivers manually via the "add printer wizard" When I arrived at the...
SUMMARY OF ISSUE:
Can print from a local " printer” as a client when using the Remote Desktop feature.
However, this can only be accomplished while in a “workgroup” setting (LAN).
When I connect to remote host, I am able to add the printer and am able to print, the printer goes through...
Mr. Breeze,
Depending on what type of machine you have. You could try pulling out the NIC and giving it a good blow/clean and reinsert it back in to the PCI slot (real good).... It seems like a lot of work, but in the end it may relieve that 10% of annoyance.
linney,
Thanks for the tip. I'll check out the BIOS. However, what cause the BIOS to change. I booted-up/down the machine at my lab more than dozen times and not once was the Dell and Microsoft splash screen missing at startup?
What are your thoughts?
I recently reformatted a Dell 2400 PC and reinstalled the OS. Prior to this the PC was (missing the Dell and Microsoft splash screen at startup). However, I attributed this to some form of virus since the person had all sorts of crap like "Hotbar" and "Webshots" installed...
khimedia,
I don't know how long it's been since you have had this problem, maybe by now you have already fixed it....
Did you look in to the culprit being the Hub/router....?
What are your thougths?
mm

Matt, thanks for your response. Why is it that the BEFSR41 will not recognize GRE packets? Does it have to do with the Linksys BEFSR41 itself (firmware). Seperate from that, if I wanted to VPN by not using the Linksys router. I could set up a multihomed W2K Srvr and put it in front of the...
Dude, try installing netBEUI on WIN98 machine. Browse to your NIC properties. Click "advanced" select protocol-and then slect netBEUI. Reboot log-in accordingly and you should be good to go.
I am trying to setup my Linksys BEFSR41 router to VPN. I am running WinXP Home Edition, but can easily install Win2000Srvr (W2KSRVR would not be a domain controller).
Could someone please walk me through the setup on the Linksys BEFSR41 router. Also, would I need 2 NICs (on the srvr) or can I...
