Sounds like you haven't 'Processed Registers" in a long while.
If you are taking over a system why don't you call the reseller and have them set you up with some training. We've installed DD in a quite a few hospitals and works great.
What is your relationship with these stores? Are you the IT manager for a chain or are you the guy who sold it and trying to support it? Either way it sounds like with the round trip time involved that the stores, that they need to have extra equipment around so that they can ship problem...
It's not just about the software, it also about the dealer. If you pick a product and don't get along with guy who installs it what's the point.
Ask for a demonstration of the product, request references, not only about the software but the hardware as well. Ask about warranties and how much a...
You could download dbf viewer which would allow you to edit the dbf file. Digital Dining has a similar setup, anytime you edit the dbf file you are required to run a "Repair all" which I assume reindexs the dbf files with cdx files.

Good luck
Oh I see the sun is always brightest on the Aloha side, ah well at least your intentions are known.
1) You're kidding right.. $500 for flat rate is reasonable. I EXPECT the company to send me the part and I'll fix it for my client. If you are unable too and/or more than willing to soak your...
We would have loved to buy the warranty but they forced us out of our their software and hardware to give our custumers to another dealer. Despite solid sales and great custumer satisfaction. They will not allow us to help our custumers. They won't ship parts, the flat rate for repair is...
We WERE a dealer until they announced thier quota requirements. I agree about getting people out of thier current hardware, we are actively getting people out of the Radiant nonsense but some of the problems seam simple.
Is there some irony in selling Aloha in Hawaii?
Thx for the info.
I have a screen that seams to have a burnt bulb (screen is very dim) , without going through Radiant does anybody know how I could get parts for this, OR provide more insight on how to resolve this.
Try Touch Dynamic but the best small all in one is the J2 thin client (fanless also). Great terminal.
This is put out every year, good reference.

Well that's encouraging, we have been setting up our POS system using some very high end AP (Symbols 5431?) and they have very well thought out settings to try and keep other networks from interfering but at one site I found 15 other wireless networks... 15!!!. Does micros implement high gain...
Anybody use them? I was wondering how they work from a technical standpoint. Do they use 802.11b or bluetooth? Terminal services? How reliable is it? Just wondering how the other half lives.
I'm curious how other people are handling complex passwords that are used to access back of the house features. With a certain POS system they require the password to be 8 characters in length with a combination of numbers and letters. It wouldn't be so bad but they require it to be changed...
That's a great policy, and it's not like a little windows message pops up on the screen and let's us all know what the problem is. Chasing down the red herrings of power problems are incredibly time consuming. We've recently started testing some software that comes with the smartpower UPS's that...
Great info on this forum.. it's nice to know others are in the same boat. We should start a support group for the Partnertechs. I once replaced the socket 7 fan in 2 of them, this should have taken 10 min. for both. Instead it was 45 min and about 10 screws per unit. ARRRGH
My expierence with...
1) Call your processor, never assume a batch hasn't gone.
2) Instead of selecting "process batch" select process batch with new number and then select the failed batch from the next drop down box below it.
We have several sco unix 5.0 boxes that are falling off the network exactly 24hours after they come back up. They are used as a platform for our billing software at our pharmacies. They boxes are all brand new PC's with socket 370 processors and a gigabyte GA-6VTXE mainbaord. We have swapped...
