You can try the following:
- Export collection from the parent site to a .mof file using Export objects.. right click menu.
- Edit the file to change the collection's name.
- Import the file on the child site.
When you create a distribution point it creates folders SMSPKG{x}$ on every disk drive on the server.
How to prevent some of the drives, for example C:, from been used?
Thanks.
Hi!
Is there a way to change dependencies without bringing resource offline. For example, add additional physical disk that service depend on without stopping the service.
Thanks.
Hi,
I have to migrate old server running SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 to the new hardware. It has Networker for UNIX 5.5.1 installed.
Unfortunately, I do not have installation media/files for the Networker 5.5.1. Legato has stoped shipping this product with the media updates.
I would really appreciate...

I run into a similar problem. I think there is a problem with passing standard output between Networker and Blat. So, I found a workaround - saving bootstrap to a text file first and sending it with smtpmail.exe that comes with Networker. I can send you my .bat file if you wish.
After the upgrade to SMS2003 on some of the legacy client I am getting a strange error message.
Few times a day the message pops-up saying:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: c:\.....\smsmon32.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. ...
I had similar situation when old SMS 2.0 SP5 server died and I installed new SMS 2003 with different site name. I was able to push advanced client without any problems. But on most NT4 workstations I had to uninstall old client first and then install new one.
I can not add other user's mailbox in Outlook 2002 sp2.
When I click on Add button in the Advanced tab, Microsoft
Exchane Server configuration box, I've got message:
The name could not be resolved. The action could not be
completed.
I am using outlook 2002 with Exchange 5.5
Thanks.
Thank you for the info. You also can find the string in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\YOUR_PACKAGE\UninstallString
We have about 200 printers on a 2 node cluster. Runs OK. Only once we had a problem and Microsoft was working on it for about a month. The solution was simple - use good drivers. So you have to be very careful with the printer drivers.
- Do not install any 3rd party print monitors and printer...
I would not use Qlogic SANSurfer together with SDD. If you have two HBAs going through two fabrics to two different ports of the Shark, SANSurfer will block one of the paths and you will loose load balansing future of SDD. If you have 20 servers and you are going to configure persistent binding...
I do not know about Offise XP SP2 but I run into a problem with Office XP SP1. During the installation SP1 looks for the original Office XP media (CD or a network path) and fails if can not find it.
When you run "normal" installation of SP2 does it ask you for the CD?
If you use IBM SDD driver you can find the volume number and check the assignment in the ESS Specialist.
But the best way to solve the problem - zoning on the switches.
