    Try disabling the "scan on demand" (it's not called that) feature of Norton, the one that scans files as programs/processes access them. I've found that to be a major contributor to slow file transfers/accesses.

    There's very little to do on the client side, apart from set up a site on SecureRemote / SecureClient with the correct IP and credentials. If you are a novice user, I would suggest consulting your provider of CP for technical assistance.

    Hi It sounds to me like an unreliable link problem to me. Have your had the link tested between the two fw's?

    ASFAIK, Services will only be included as "any" if they're marked to be included as "any". So choosing "any" as a Service won't necessarily include all TCP/UDP ports as one might expect.

    My client has just installed a Netscreen 5XP on a 256K ADSL internet link in Bahrain. He has a Netscreen 25 at his corporate office in the UK. I have configured the two appliances to create a VPN tunnel between them, so semi-transparent file/mail access could be achieved. I tested the link...
