Hey gbiello,
I tried it on a very small network and it missed tow machines; the one I pinged from (it was listed as the inerface, but no MAC address) and a 98SE box. It did pickup my router which the software missed. Any idea why it would miss the 98 box?

Here's a freeware program that should do just what you want.

I used to have a Russian freeware program, but haven't been able to find it. If I ever do find it, I'll try to remember to let you know.

I installed the latest version of Netswitcher and all is as well as possible. This version is much better than the one I tried a while ago.

Fred,
Thanks for the tip. I'll look into this. I'm also going to install netswitcher as a trial. This software allows one to switch many network configuration settings without reboot. I'll set-up two different static IP addresses and see how this works.
I hate to get too involved with having...
No profiles. No desktop pc for this user. I'm not sure about the DHCP leases, but I don't think that this applies as no matter the time frame, if the user re-boots, she gets a good address. Also, the DHCP servers are the Webramps and I did comb through the configuration and don't recall a lease...
I have a user with a new Toshiba laptop with W2K. It's set-up to get an IP address using DHCP. The addresses are assigned by a Webramp on network #1 and a 3Com hub/modem on the other. The laptop has the correct gateway addresses configured for each network.
Gateway #1 is 192.168.1.254

Does anyone have any experience with Compuserve on a W2K box? I'm trying to set-up a laptop for a friend and he needs his Compuserve. The set-up runs to completion, but the default connection doesn't show a dial-up connection and it can't be changed. I would change to CS 2000, but this guy...
Thanks all for the help, but I think I found the solution by accident! I fired-up a PC running 98 and began to examine Network Neighborhood properties. I checked some of the installed components' properties and found it in Client for MS Networks. It gives you three selection: Logon to NT...
Paul,
How would the mapped drive behave under these conditions? Would the user loose the mapping when in Standalone and then gain it back when connected to the network?

Does anyone know of a registry hack or any other way to eliminate the "Reconnect at next logon" message when the mapped drive is not available?
I have a couple of laptop users that need some drives mapped to their computers. They get confused when the message box appears and I would...
Well, all, later that day almost turned into a month!
Anyway, I checked to see if imaging was installed and it is. Either I'm missing something very simple, or this is a very strange problem.
Any ideas now anyone? <p> <br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>I am not here.
I'll check to see if imaging is installed later today on the PC's in question.
The users open an e-mail attachment into IE by clicking it. That's about it. I've got another problem with right click printing of e-mails, but that's for a different message board!
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for all the help. This really is a strange problem; isn't it?
Yes, I did try setting the margins to a different size with no luck.
I'll try the HTML code next time I'm working with this computer.
Screen resolution? There is a difference between these PC's that would correlate with the...
I've done it different ways. Using the same printer from different computers, different printers and computers, two of the same printer from different computers, two of the same printer from one computer. <br><br>I really believe it's an IE problem (feature?). When the same document is opened on...

I'm totally lost with this one. User1 gets an attachment (gif) in Outlook Express, opens it with IE5, and then prints it. The image should be one page, but comes out as two with part of the image on the second page. User1 forwards the e-mail to User2. User2 prints the image, but it comes out on...
