click on the query menu and then click on Results to File,
once you have done this, highlight your query and run it, before it will run you will be prompted to enter a file name.
A cursor is the only way I know to do a row by row, but they are very time consuming. Especially with large data.
You may want to break your process down into smaller steps.
First you could create an intermediary or temporary table that has only members which are currently active:

From enterprise Manager :
you can click on tempdb, right mouse click, select all tasks, select shrink database , set maximum free space in files to 0% and then hit ok.
If you want to do this from the Sql Query analyzer you can
type :
dbcc shrinkdatabase(tempdb) and then highlight and run
