    MSA 1000

    I have installed a couple of them. Works fine. Now it support more than one cluster and a mix of cluster/single nodes, but unfortunatley still no active/active controller configuration.

    SAN : Number of Hops

    That depends on the vendor. If you use Compaqs switches, and want support from them, you are not allowed to have more than 7 hops. Im sure of that other vendors have also have design rules.
