    Backup tapes error (Maxell DLTtape IV)

    I'm running 8.5 and had a simular problem yesterday. The overwrite protection level is set to partial and it would not write to any tape. I ended up rebooting and that soved the problem. Hope this helps

    data error (cyclic redundancy check)

    I've had a simular problem with my SDLT drive. I've found a weekly cleaning of the drive prevents the error from occurring. If I forget to clean it, I get the error.
