George, somebody in another thread suggested http://www.learntosubnet.com/ and I found it to be very helpful for subnetting. As far DHCP and DNS are concerned, I just used the books and made sure to get to the point where I could fully explain why a mock test answer was right and could...
WSUS is based on SUS and does quite a bit more than the earlier product, but at their core (I think) they are very similar. All of the questions I received pertained to SUS as well as WSUS. I'd imagine that MS will stick to sich questions, as most published study materials still refer to SUS.
Dreadz, I ended up getting all of my questions right on it and my entire knowledge of the subject comes from studying the SUS section of the Sybex 70-290 book. (We use NetChk at work, so I've never really had a need to learn it in detail.) It's not rocket science, but you definitely need to...
Congratulations! I passed 270 yesterday (824) and am gearing up for 284 next.
291 covers a lot of ground, so make sure to take your time in studying for it. I actually found it to be a bit easier than 290, but that's probably just because I was much better prepared for it.
Cstorms, thanks for the info. It's funny, I know 270 is supposed to be the easiest of the core tests, but I so rarely deal with some features (e.g., XP's firewall, ICS, and accessibility features) at work that I'm getting fits trying to memorize settings for things that are never or rarely...
I used the Sybex books and Transcender, but the real problem was that I didn't put in the time to study as much as I should have because of how crazy work was at the time. I took it a couple of months later and passed handily.
If you've done server administration for a couple of years you...
Just a head's up to anyone taking 70-291 anytime soon: I took the test last week and received six questions specifically pertaining to WSUS. These weren't even DNS or routing questions that mentioned WSUS but rather were configuration issues. Just as surprising to me was the dearth of...
From test-takers' experiences, what CLI commands should I know and what level of detail should I have?
I'm generally familiar with the basic commands (diskpart, tracert, ds*, etc.), but I don't know the options that well as I rarely if ever use most of them.
I've taken notes on all of the...
When I used that I got the error "Method or data member not found." with .Topic highlighted in blue and the Private Sub line in yellow. The subform name is the same as both a form and as an object in the main form. Could that be a problem?
I have a subform with a combo box for topics that describe the main form's record. When a topic needs to be added to the list, the user clicks on a button to bring up an "edit list" form. In order to refresh the combo box in the topic subform I've assigned this event for the edit list form's...
I have a daily task that requires me to append a number of rows from a spreadsheet into an Access table. I linked the worksheet path and created an append query for it.
One of the fields in the spreadsheet routinely includes more than 255 characters, but Access still links it as a text field...
I have a 5xp and use NetScreen 8 to to make VPN connections. I configured one of our users who connects through a cable modem connected to a Lynksys wireless router/firewall (model BEFW11S4 v.2). When I connected the computer to one of the router's ethernet ports I could tunnel into the...
Thanks for your input. I ended up just restarting the server and the clients were able to access it afterwards; nowhere have I read that I needed to restart the server, and I assume it was just coincidental. Even stranger is that in the TS licensing console it shows that none of the licenses...
Our 120 day trial for teminal services ended a couple of days ago, so I just installed a per user 5 pack. I activated the server and changed the licensing configuration from device to user, but the clients (Win XP Pro) are still recieving the message that a connection cannot be made because...
I am trying to install a Kyocera printer (via a standard TCP/IP port). Like almost all current Kyocera printers, its drivers are unsigned. I have disabled driver signing in the System control panel (while logged in under the Administrator account), but when I click finish in the Add Printer...

I came across this when I was looking for speaker building info; I haven't tried it (I would like to think I have better ways to spend a weekend), but there appear to be a large number of people who swear by the quality.

I haven't seen this cd myself, so I can't vouche for it's quality (or legitimacy), but the amount of positive feedback leads me to think it's probably pretty good.
Just a word of caution, the Panasonic manuals I've...
