PC going into standby shortly after WoL

Thanks for all the pointers - I'd tried most of those things already though. I got hold of dumppo ok and that showed that all three PCs were configured the same. Process Monitor didn't show anything I wasn't expecting - I couldn't see what had initiated the suspend though which is really what...

PC going into standby shortly after WoL

Application log doesn't reveal anything either I'm afraid. I meant to say before that I know for a fact that the script that checks the presence of the file and performs the suspend is not running and suspending the PC as it also kills off the data import application before suspending - this...

PC going into standby shortly after WoL

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately if I un-check "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" the options to allow WoL are disabled and so the PC can't be woken up by the server in the first place!

PC going into standby shortly after WoL

I have three PCs which import data between two databases. When there is no data waiting, a server removes a file from a shared directory. The import PCs check the existence of this file and if it's not there they suspend themselves using the command 'rundll32 powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState'. The...

It worked! Thanks for all that - I owe you a drink!

Thanks for that Rick998, much appreciated. I will pop in tomorrow and try this.

mprexe caused an invalid page fault in...

Thanks for all the reponses. I forgot to mention before that I had deleted the PWL file, this didn't help. I have since read the other KB articles mentioned here, but no luck with them either. This machine has two network cards, one to connect to the LAN and one to connect to the piece of...

mprexe caused an invalid page fault in...

Getting the above message with memory addresses on start up on a Windows '95 machine. The error message also mentions wsock32.dll. I've replaced mprexe.exe, wsock32.dll, mpr.dll, winsock.dll, kernel32.dll and others with copies from a working Windows '95 machine but can't stop this message...

    RewriteRule (cpanel)

Does your guess not work? If not maybe an extra / is needed, ie: RewriteRule ^/cgi-bin/forums/(.*)$ /index.html [P]

    mod_rewrite / RewriteRule query

Further to my above post, it may infact seem that neither work. Or the game one only sometimes works... So how can I do this?

    mod_rewrite / RewriteRule query

I use RewriteRules extensivly on a site I developed for someone so each piece of content has it's own virtual page name. One category of content (games) just uses the format games21.html etc. The site owner has installed a TAF script that tracks hits and as such people are now following links...

    Service control not responding

Yes! We had APC software installed! Unbelievable that they've distributed software that will expire with such serious conseqeunces. We realised this was the problem when another server did the same thing. Cheers for the update link!

    Service control not responding

We have a Server 2003 server with Informix on it and about 2 hours ago the database seemed to stop responding. We couldn't restart the Informix services in Admin tools -> services so we restarted the server. On restart the database did not come up. Again when trying to stop the services, the...

Print job printing out many times

Thanks for your response. They are reasonably large (76kb), but larger ones have been ok. I FTP'd the print job to the JetDirect box and apart from being slower it only printed once leading me to believe it was an AIX issue. The print command I'm using on AIX is lp -d printername.

Print job printing out many times

There's always something I forget to mention... There's absoloutly no escape codes or anything like that in the print jobs, it's just plain text.

Print job printing out many times

We have an Epson dot-matrix printer connceted to our AIX system via an HP JetDirect box. When some print jobs are sent to it (seems to be no pattern to which ones have the problem) once the printer has reached the end of the print job, it starts again, and will keep printing the whole job until...

    Saving a network username/password

Thanks for your suggestion. I'd actually already tried that in a scheduled task (with a remove connection command before it) and that got things in a right knot. After a while it couldn't remove it as it said it didn't exsist, and it couldn't add it again as it said the drive letter was in use...

    Saving a network username/password

I should have mentioned that - it doesn't save the details when you map a drive either. The mapped drive will loose it's connection after a while too (the red cross appears next to it in Explorer). To restore this, the username and password has to be typed in again... It's not my machine so I...

    Saving a network username/password

I've got a Windows 2000 Pro computer that needs access to a share on a Windows 2003 server. When I first connect to the server I am asked for a username and password which I enter and I connect sucessfully. However, after half an hour or so (or after logging off and on gain), if I try the...

    HP Jetdirect drivers for AIX

That's got it. Didn't occur to me that it'd be on the CDs! Thanks all.
