I recommend disabling the drivers for the tape drive and library if applicable through device manager. ArcServe has built in drivers that communicate with all types of hardware. This worked for us when we experienced this type of problems. Let ArcServe take total control of your tape devices.- wormman

Can tape importing be scripted in ArcServe2000?
Is it possible to script the importing of tapes as a pre-job in ArcServe 2000. We have tape librarians inserting tapes in our Dell LTO tape libaries but would rather not have them interface with the ArcServe software.
