Hi again- The major and minor numbers match, when checked against ODM and /etc. Howeveer, I noticed that tty1 is owned by uucp and is in group uucp. Your example has root and system - is this significant? Also, nothing is EVER in the lock file, which is why this is so puzzling. Nothing shows...- ddthomas00

Hi all- I am trying to configure a Hayes Accura 56K modem on an F40 running 4.1.3. No response to cu command, other than 'Device Locked'. Getting 'Device Locked' connecting to a modem
I am trying to configure a Hayes Accura modem on a server running 4.1.3. When I issue the command cu -ml tty1, I get a message saying 'Connection Failed- Device Locked'. Any ideas of what this menas? Have changed cables, switched modem, ran diags on the port...all seems well. Thans in...- ddthomas00
