Microsoft wierdness equals reboot to resolve yet again. Don't know what caused the system to cause that particular share to slow down access so much. It did have the most sessions open (around 200) but I have never seen that happen before. Ended up rebooting the system last night and everything...
Whoops spoke too soon. Problem returned after a few moments. It appears that clearing out sessions helped but other users immediately stepped in with more sessions. Rebooting the system may resolve the problem but I won't be able to do that until this weekend. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
Yes DNS was set up correctly. Problem resolved. After checking all the error logs and security settings and double checking indexing setup I checked out the user sessions on that share. It turns out I had two users who had over 50 sessions open each. I checked with each user and they were not...
We have two mapped drive on all of our end users workstation pointed to the same array partition on our file server. The drive mappings are pointed to X: and Y: on the desktops. This morning users started reporting delays in reaching files on the mapped drives. It turns out that the X: drive is...
I had origionally intended the DHCP setup just to get the system online long enough to download updates but I ended up tracing the problem to the switch I was using. Once I switched to a direct connection the system came right up on the network. Thanks to everyone for all the advice. Thanks to...

Can't seem to get my server on the net. I have set the static settings manually but I am apparently still missing something because I can't see the system on my network. Does anyone know if it is possible to configure a NW6 server to accept DHCP settings from a Win2K network? I just want to get...
Installing Netware 6 for the first time and completely new to this OS. Trying to load SP2 from the local server but all the instructions tell you to "explode" the file but do not indicate how to do so. Is there a specific module or app I should be using to do this? The system is...
Occasionally some of my servers respond to a TS request with the normal TS popup window but the window is empty. There is no "Log on to Windows" prompt where you would enter your login information, just the normal Windows desktop background. I origionally thought that the connection...
I have checked through the Arcserve docs but I am having a hard time obtaining any information beyond how to do the restore itself. The steps seem easy enough but there is no indication of whether Exchange services will be interrupted or not. I am planning on only performing mailbox restores to...
